ESL Instructor/Teacher Trainer
Week 9
This has been a fun journey so far, and I’ve been trying to learn more about the transatlantic accent as I’ve been working on this project. Some of the biggest things I think I need to improve on to make this more believable and “natural” is expanding my vocabulary for the time period. Since this is just a made-up accent, it does heavily rely on the vocabulary from the time period in which it was used. Something else to work on for the future is this sense of airiness and almost slight breathiness when speaking. From the female examples I could find throughout this project, they all sound very light and airy. Overall, I think I’ve made good progress so far, but there’s always more than can be done.
