Lesson Plan 1
Modal Verbs and Transition Words
This lesson focused on the usage of modal verbs like can, could, might, etc. There was a review of modal verbs that was taught explicitly. We then moved onto double modals, where the students struggled to see the use of them, until one student compared some examples to phrasal verbs. We moved onto a review of transition words, that was taught implicitly and ended with a transition word activity.
Lesson Plan 2
Tag Questions and Trends
We started this class with fun video about language variants in the US. This YouTube video has a person from each state talk about their "accent" and the students were asked about their thoughts or if they notice anything that was brought up in the video. Next we moved onto an explicit review of tag questions where the students were asked to provide information about the topic. We moved onto the topic of trends and I introduced the topic with several different pictures and examples. There was then two different activities over trends, one reading/writing activity and one speaking/discussion activity.

Lesson Plan 3
Comparatives, Superlatives and More
This lesson has a few mini focuses that we touched on. Since this was created for an adult ESL course, I try to incorporate things that are relevant to them in their personal lives as well. We started off with wrapping up the topic of trends by talking about technology trends. This was a lecture style presentation over technology trends. Next we moved onto an implicit introduction of comparatives and superlatives where a student explained what the two concepts are. This was paired with a short fill in the blank exercise before moving onto expressing personalities. The students were given new vocabulary words to express personalities and as a class, we discussed what the definitions of the words were as I typed it out for them. For fun, I paired this with an activity where they had to describe the people in the pictures I showed them. Lastly we ended with a short lecture on workplace terms that are commonly used in the US.
